Our church supports Care Net Pregnancy Centers in Omak and Brewster, WA, through regular financial support, fundraisers, event support, and participation in their prayer chain. In addition, some of our church attenders are volunteers or board members for the pregnancy center.
Care Net offers hope to women facing unplanned pregnancies by providing practical help and emotional support. Free pregnancy tests, abortion information, parenting classes, and material assistance are just some of the many services offered that empower women to choose life. The ultimate aim of Care Net and its network of pregnancy centers is to share the love and truth of Jesus Christ in both word and deed. As a result, the hearts of women and men are being changed by Christ's love. In addition, those struggling with past abortions are finding God's healing and forgiveness.
For many years, we have supported a long time Wycliffe missionary who is now retired. We continue our monthly support to this dear lady and enjoy periodic updates from her.
Wycliffe was founded in 1942 by William Cameron Townsend. A missionary to the Cakchiquel Indians of Guatemala, Townsend caught the vision for translation when Cakchiquel-speaking men expressed their concern that the Bible was not available to them in the language they understood clearly. As a result, Townsend resolved that every man, woman and child should be able to read God’s Word in their own language. Since its inception, Wycliffe has made great progress in Bible translation all around the world.
